Frequently Asked Questions
Information about Industry Directories
What is a Featured Listing?
Featured Listings are those that appear at the beginning of the directory, on page one,
before the alphabetical list of companies (think of the big ads in the yellow pages, versus
the one-line text-only listings).
Featured Listings provide marketers increased visibility and enable prospects to go directly
to your website to get information or purchase your products and services. Therefore,
Featured Listings deliver 100% targeted leads. And because they appear on page one of the
directory, before the alphabetical list of businesses, your Featured Listing is seen by
every visitor to the directory. More Info >

How is traffic driven to the directories?
MediaBrains partners with trusted brands, whose publishers have wide-reaching and targeted
circulation for both their print publications and websites. These business buyers visit the
publishers' websites to get information on their industry, as well as research and choose
products and services. As a result, our directories deliver a highly targeted and qualified
audience. Furthermore, MediaBrains has extensive expertise in search engine optimization;
therefore directories are indexed by major search engines. As a result, our directories
deliver a highly targeted audience of business buyers.

Who will see my Featured Listing?
The audience viewing online directories mirrors our publishers' circulation profile, so
leads are industry decision makers — 100% targeted prospects. Additionally, the online
version of a magazine reaches a much larger audience than its print counterpart. One of
the biggest benefits of advertising in the directory is that you are reaching buyers at
exactly the right: when they are already searching for your product or service.

What is the difference between a "link URL" and a "display link?"
The link URL is the page the user sees when they click on your ad. You can send
users to your home page, a specific product page or a landing page that is relevant
to the category. The display link is the actual text you would like to display for
users to see. For example, the commonly used phrase "Click Here" is the display
link, while the link URL is the page on your website, such as your home page, that
the users see after they click.
